Stonington Designs

Another brand you may remember from our favorites from Surf Expo is Stonington Designs. And we are still very much in love.

Stonington Designs was founded by Rich, a skilled wood and metal craftsman, and his wife Michelle, a talented artist. Their creative journey started in November 2022 after Michelle took a basket weaving class, which inspired them to turn Rich’s wood scraps into unique jewelry. Their first collection launched in January 2023, blending woodwork with intricate basket weaving.

Made in their Connecticut woodshop, each piece reflects Rich’s precision and Michelle’s artistic touch. Stonington Designs offers a variety of jewelry, including earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, along with customizable wooden truck hitches for men. The bracelets, earrings and bracelets are all available in a variety of woods and colors, and each one is unique in its own way, just like the person you are gifting it to.

But here is the bonus…they created the Military Spouse Weaving Program, a special initiative sparked by a family conversation and brought to life by their daughter-in-law, Donna. Married to their son Michael, an Air Force pilot, Donna understood the unique challenges military spouses face, often managing household duties alone while their partners are deployed.
